NORTH ATTLEBORO - North TV’s election coverage kicks off this Monday, March 24 with interviews of the majority of candidates on the ballot when residents vote at the high school on April 1.
All but two of the 19 candidates seeking two-year seats on the town council came to the North TV studio for an extensive interview.
The topics discussed were why they were running, how to know the will of the people, a special exemption for seniors if a new high school wins approval later this spring, working with the town manager on economic development, and whether or not they support a reduction of taxes for all residents.
School committee candidates were asked whey they are running, how to balance the needs of the schools with those of other town departments, the role of a school committee member, their thoughts on the new high school building project and other issues facing the town’s public schools.
The six specials, five featuring the topics in the town council race, and interviews with the school committee candidates can be viewed on North TV’s Government Channel: Comcast channel 98 and Verizon channel 23.
