BOSTON - The number of COVID cases in North Attleboro and Plainville is on the upswing after more than a month of decline.
That positivity rate was actually down this week, but up compared to the past month.
The percent positivity was 3.70 of the 1,270 tests performed over the last two weeks according to data released by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health for the two-week period ending Wednesday. That percentage equals 44 new cases over the past two weeks.
The rate was down slightly from last week’s 3.97 percent or 47 new cases, 3.20 percent two weeks ago or 39 new cases, and 2.61 three weeks back or 28 new cases.
Plainville’s positivity rate was 3.33 percent of the 451 tests performed over the past two weeks. That percentage equals 15 new cases over the past two weeks.
The rate was almost double the 1.90 percent from last week or 8 new cases, 1.57 two weeks ago or 7 new cases, 2.05 percent three weeks back or 8 new cases. North Attleboro and Plainville are still higher than the state rate of 1.98 percent. The state’s number was 1.70 percent last week.
