NORTH ATTLEBORO - The final totals won't be known until the close of the day on Friday, but the winners in the four races that most impact North Attleboro and Plainville residents have been decided.

North TV projects Adam Scanlon is the winner in the race to succeed Elizabeth "Betty" Poirier. The 24-year-old Democrat leads Republican John Simmons by 1,641 votes with approximately 900 additional ballots still to be tallied. Those votes, along with those postmarked Nov. 3 or before and received at town hall by Friday, will be announced after 5 p.m.
Scanlon will be the first Democrat to represent North Attleboro, Ward 3B in Attleboro and Precincts 1 and 5 in Mansfield.

State Senator Rebecca Rausch is headed for a second term representing the area. The Needham Democrat leads Republican Franklin Town Councilor Matthew Kelly by nearly 18,000 votes with over 81 percent reporting.
