NORTH ATTLEBORO - The North TV staff has been busy covering King Philip and North Attleboro in the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association’s football playoffs.
Because of last week’s Thanksgiving Day Football Marathon, we are behind in naming our North TV Players of the Week.
Back on November 15, we brought you LIVE coverage of North’s 42 to 17 whipping of Westborough in the Division 3 quarterfinals. We were also LIVE in Wrentham for King Philip’s 42-20 beating of Barnstable in the Division 2 quarterfinals.
Our Player of the Week was Patrick Hamilton. The 6’2” 260-pound two-way lineman, wearing number 66, dominated on both sides of the line to lead the Red Rocketeers to the win and earn POTW honors.
We were on the road for semifinal playoff games on November 22. North shocked top seed Reading 42-20 at Assabet Valley High School in Marlboro to advance to this week’s Super Bowl. King Philip also rolled on the 22nd 42-28 over Walpole.
Our Player of the Week for that round was Red Rocketeers’ quarterback Chase Frisoli. The 6’2” 205-pound senior, wearing number-5, rushed for a career-high 311 yards on 27 carries and three touchdowns – he also tossed a TD pass – to be named our POTW.
And, of course, we were LIVE with two games on Thanksgiving Day.
We were at North's Raymond E. Beaupre Jr. Field for the Red Rocketeers 38-8 rout of Attleboro and King Philip’s Macktaz Field for the Warriors 27-21 come-from-behind win over Franklin.
Our Player of the Week for the holiday games was North’s Bryce Kiser. The 5’11” 170-pound senior, wearing number-2, had a big day including a couple of highlight tape plays to earn North Attleboro Player of the Game honors and our Player of the Week.
Patrick, Chase and Bryce will receive copies of their games on a USB drive and North TV Player of the Week t-shirts in North Attleboro red. We’ll announce our Player of the Week for this week’s Super Bowl games next week at this time.
