NORTH ATTLEBORO - The presence of trace amounts of a chemical flagged by environmental agencies in town water was an agenda item during Wednesday’s night virtual meeting of the board of public works.
The contaminant, known as PFAs, forced the water department to take two of its wells offline last month.
In addition to serving North Attleboro, water from the wells was sold to Plainville last year to help the town with its water shortfall.
The plan to consolidate town departments in North Attleboro was also discussed. A plan to be reviewed by the town’s bylaw study committee would have solid waste fall under the under the umbrella of DPW.
Thursday night’s planning board meeting can be seen in its entirety on North TV’s Government Channel: Comcast channel 98 and Verizon channel 23.
