NORTH ATTLEBORO - Two of the three North Attleboro selectmen elected to the town’s first council will not be seeking reelection.
Councilors Keith Lapointe and Michael Lennox emailed statements to North TV within minutes of each other Tuesday afternoon announcing they would not be seeking second terms on the nine-member council.
Lapointe received the most votes when the council was elected in June of 2019. The town's charter calls for the top vote-getter to act as council president.
Lennox served as the selectmen's last chair and was at the helm for the last meeting of that board two years ago.
North TV spoke to Lapointe outside of his home on Wednesday and Lennox on Thursday in front of North TV about their decisions.
