ATTLEBORO - The final full week of the fall sports season was packed with six games on North TV.
We were at North Attleboro’s Raymond E. Beaupre Jr. Field a week ago Tuesday for girls’ soccer. Visiting Mansfield routed the Red Rocketeers 5-nil in the afternoon matinee.
King Philip’s Macktaz Field was the site of Wednesday’s 7-1 Warriors' whipping of Attleboro in field hockey action.
We were back at the Beaupre Field Thursday for boys’ soccer. Oliver Ames upended the host Red Rocketeers 2-nil.
Two football games were on the schedule Friday night.
North Attleboro held off Mansfield 14-10 LIVE on our Education Channel, while King Philip mauled Milford 41-7 LIVE on our Community Channel.
We wrapped up the week Saturday afternoon with girls’ soccer at Bishop Feehan’s McGrath Stadium. King Philip slipped past the Shamrocks 2-1 on a picture-perfect autumn afternoon.
Our North TV Player of the Week comes from that last game.
Mikayla Thompson scored both KP goals to earn this week’s award. The senior forward, wearing lucky 13, found the back of the net midway through the first half and then added the second goal with 10 minutes left to seal the win and be named our Player of the Week.
Mikayla will receive a copy of the win over Bishop Feehan on a USB drive and a North TV Player of the Week t-shirt in King Philip gold. We’ll announce our Player of the Week for THIS week NEXT week at this time.
