NORTH ATTLEBORO - The turnout for the town's annual election was, once again, exceptionally low.
Only 5.29% of the town’s registered voters cast ballots on Tuesday.
The candidate receiving the most of those votes in the race for three three-year terms on the school committee may be new to that committee but certainly not town government.
Keith Lapointe, who was also received the most votes during the first time residents elected a town council, topped the field again with 867 votes.
Tasha Buzzell, the only incumbent in the race, finished second with 781 votes.
Charles “Charlie” Peters also earned a seat with 684 votes.
North Attleboro High School senior Meagan Lee came up short in her first bid for public office, finishing with an impressive 573 votes, while Aaron Whirl had 245 votes.
All five candidates visited the North TV studio for our live election night coverage.
