NORTH ATTLEBORO - A mere 4.33 percent of North Attleboro voters bothered to cast ballots for the town’s annual election on Tuesday (June 30).
The election was pushed back from April 7 due to the governor’s stay-at-home advisory at that time.
Three contested races were decided.
Four candidates sought two three-year seats on the school committee. Sarah Stone topped the ballot with 576 votes, veteran member and committee chair James McKenna was next with 463 votes. Talia Yourell, who was appointed to fill a vacant seat last June when member Adam Scanlon was elected to the town council, finished third with 343 votes. Martin Tragni was fourth with 155.
Thomas DiFiore was re-elected to another three-year term on the park and recreation commission, finishing first in the three-man field with 528 votes. John Ruppert grabbed the second seat up for grabs with 419 votes. Daniel Knight finished third with 385 votes.
Incumbent and former North Attleboro Electric employee Dale Langille was elected to another three-year term with 659 votes. Challenger Robert Cote finished with 187.
