FRANKLIN - A new high school for students attending Tri-County is another step closer to becoming a reality.
The Tri-County Regional School Committee voted unanimously to submit a proposed building design and project budget to the Massachusetts School Building Authority.
The new school is projected to cost $284 million with the state up to $100 million.
The rest would be paid by the towns that make up the district based on the percentage of students they send to the school.
That all depends, of course, if residents in those towns vote to approve the project in a special election on Tuesday, October 24.
