Test 3

Nineteen seeking nine town council seats

NORTH ATTLEBORO - The ballot for the town’s April 1 town election will need more ink than past years.

Nineteen residents returned nomination papers by Tuesday’s deadline in hopes of serving on the nine-member town council.

Incumbents President Justin Pare, Vice President John Simmons, John Costello, Daniel Donovan, Mark Gould, Andrea Slobogan and Patricia St. Pierre are seeking re-election.

Current councilors Darius Gregory and Andrew Shanahan opted not to run for another term.

The seven incumbents will be challenged by former councilor Keith Lapointe, David Cannata Jr., Cara Ann Caranci, Donald Cerrone, Leo Glennon, Troy Goodman, Michael Gould, Zach Johnson, James Lang, Kevin McCarthy, Joseph Rezza and Laura Wagner.

Three candidates are seeking seats on the school committee: Lyndsey Benharris, Colleen Endres and Cari Orsi.

North TV will invite all of the candidates to our studio for one-on-one interviews as part of election specials running on our Government Channel the week before the election.
