North issues parking ban

NORTH ATTLEBORO - Town officials put into place a parking ban for the first time since the town updated its winter parking ban policy to allow vehicles to park overnight without restrictions.

The declaration was issued Friday at 1:11 p.m.

"The North Attleborough Emergency Advisory Board would like to notify community members that due to the weekend’s predicted snowstorm, a parking ban will be in effect beginning at midnight on Sunday, Jan. 7, until further notice. Overnight parking on public ways will not be allowed while the ban is ongoing. Anyone violating the ban will be issued parking violations and/or towed."

"Once the Department of Public Works (DPW) clears the roadways and declares them safe for regular travel, the lifting of the parking ban will be announced."

Officials notified residents via the nattleboro.com website, social media accounts, email alerts and the digital sign in front of town hall.
