North has deal to purchase Fisher College building

NORTH ATTLEBORO - Seniors may be heading back to college.

Town Manager Michael Borg made news Monday night when he announced at the town council meeting North Attleboro and Fisher College have come to an agreement on the purchase and the sale of the school’s building across from Mason Field in the Falls section of town.

Borg hopes to move the town’s senior center to the former college building, along with a regional food pantry. Borg originally planned to move both to the former Allen Avenue School across from the Emerald Square Mall.

He explained to councilors why the purchase of the building, home of the former Donley Manufacturing and, later, Bristol County Savings Bank will save the town money.
