NORTH ATTLEBORO - North TV will be hosting at least one debate Tuesday night featuring candidates for state representative.
The two candidates seeking the 14th Bristol District will face off at 7 p.m. in the station's studio.
Democrat and incumbent Adam Scanlon and Republican David Cannata will answer five questions each from a moderator and then ask two questions of each other.
The candidates for the 9th Norfolk District were scheduled to debate at 8 p.m. but Republican incumbent Marcus Vaughn notified North TV he will not take part after a confrontation with supporters of Democrat Kevin Kalkut before a debate outside the Norfolk cable access studio two years ago.
North TV is allowing Kalkut to sit on the station's set alone to answer questions from the moderator in a format similar to a debate.
The 7 p.m. debate will be cablecast LIVE on North TV's Government Channel: Comcast channel 98 and Verizon channel 23 and will be streamed LIVE on government.northtv.net, a free service to North Attleboro and Plainville residents.
The 8 p.m. interview with Kalkut will also be cablecast LIVE, but on North TV's Plainville Channel: Comcast channel 8 and will be streamed LIVE on plainville.northtv.net, also a free service to all Plainville and North Attleboro residents.
Tuesday's debate and interview will be replayed on the Government and Plainville channels through the close of polls on Election Night, November 5, along with a special featuring one-on-one interviews with all four candidates.
