PLAINVILLE - It took 172 residents nearly an hour at the start of Monday’s annual town meeting to pass the $40.38 million budget presented by the finance committee for the fiscal year beginning July 1.
Residents also voted overwhelmingly to reject an amendment to set more money aside for future capital projects by reducing the proposed budgets for schools, public safety and other departments.
