Test 3

McLeish named Player of the Week

WRENTHAM - The regular season came to an end for the North TV sports crew with last Friday’s North Attleboro at King Philip football game.

It was our fifth game in as many days, although one of the games was interrupted when there were issues with a key piece of equipment inside our mobile production truck.

We kicked off the week with King Philip’s 3-0 volleyball shutout of North Attleboro inside the Red Rocketeers’ Pickering Gymnasium.

We were outside at the Raymond E. Beaupre Jr. Field for the Attleboro at North Attleboro soccer doubleheader. The Attleboro girls prevailed 2-1 in a shootout victory to capture the Red & Blue Cup. The AHS boys then prevailed 1-nil over the Red Rocketeers to take home the Leach & Garner Cup. The issues with our equipment ended the live cablecast and recording just before the only goal.

We were at King Philip’s Macktaz Field Friday for another doubleheader.

The Warriors field hockey team mauled Mansfield 7-1 in the opener and KP routed the Red Rocketeers 42-14 in football action.

Our North TV Player of the Week for those games is Tommy McLeish. The King Philip quarterback completed 11 of 16 passes for 232 yards and three touchdowns.

The victory improved the Warriors to 8-0, earned the team the number-1 seed in the Division 2 state tournament and earned the senior North TV Player of the Week honors.

McLeish will receive a digitized copy of the win and a Player of the Week shirt in King Philip gold.

We’ll announce our ninth Player of the Week next week.
