Test 3

Players of the Game came up big in four wins

NORTH ATTLEBORO - The North TV sports crew was busy again this week.

We were at the NAHS Pickering Gymnasium on February 3 for the Red Rocketeers' 45-27 win over Foxboro on the mat. Griffin Gouck, wrestling at 152 pounds, was one of the seniors who stepped up big for North. Gouck secured a pin in the first round against his Warrior opponent to be named our North TV Player of the Game.

The site was Attleboro’s New England Sports Village Sunday afternoon for a nonleague girls’ hockey game. Bishop Feehan skated to a 4-1 win over the Hornets, thanks to Grace Nelson. The sophomore forward scored a highlight film goal in the third period to give the Shamrocks full command of the game at 3-1 and be named our North TV Player of the Game.

We were back at the Pickering Gym Tuesday night for boys’ basketball. The Red Rocketeers won for only the third time this season, flipping Foxboro 59-43. Junior guard Givany Carney was one of the reasons why. The junior guard scored a career-high 17 points to be named our North TV Player of the Game.

The week ended on Holcott Drive in Attleboro for Bishop Feehan’s 60-17 crushing of Concord-Carlisle in nonleague play. Lydia Mordarsi, number 11, was one of the players leading the way for the Shamrocks. The senior guard finished with 11 points, including 7 in the first quarter, when Feehan jumped out to a 20-0 lead, to be named our North TV Player of the Game.

Griffin, Grace, Givany and Lydia will each receive personalized DVDs of their game, Player of the Game t-shirts in their school colors and North TV sports bag for their efforts.
