NORTH ATTLEBORO - State Representative Adam Scanlon has reportedly filed a bill that would increase the percentage the Massachusetts School Building Authority reimburses municipalities for the construction of new or renovated career and technical schools.
Tri-County Regional is one of the schools authorized by the MSBA to explore options for their campus in Franklin.
An expansion and renovation of their existing facility would cost as much as $275 million, while a new building would cost $300 million.
North Attleboro makes up a third of the student population at Tri-County, so a new school could cost town residents up to $50 million and might make it more difficult to renovate, expand or build a new NAHS.
North TV spoke to Town Manager Michael Borg about the proposed bill on Thursday.
