PLAINVILLE & NORTH ATTLEBORO - Plainville residents heading to the polls on April 1 will decide two races.
Select board Chairman Jeff Johnson will be challenged by former select board member and chair Stanley Widak. The two served together on the three-member board before Widak was defeated by Maggie Clarke in his bid for reelection last year.
The other race will feature King Philip school committee Vice Chair Bruce Cates against Christopher Brenneis, who plans to step down from his position on the Plainville school committee.
The complete ballot, including candidates running unopposed for other positions, can be found on The Sun Chronicle website under the headline, "Plainville election will feature two races."
North TV will invite all candidates on the April 1 ballot to be interviewed and provide debates in the two contested races.
North Attleboro
The ballot for North Attleboro’s April 2 town election is also set.
The only race will feature five candidates for three seats on the school committee.
Chair Tasha Buzzell is the only member running for reelection; Joseph Flaherty and Kathryn Hobbs decided not to return.
The other candidates are former town council president Keith Lapointe, Meghan Lee – who currently serves as a high school student representative on the board, Charlie Peters and Aaron Whirl.
Whirl was unsuccessful in his bid for a seat last year.
North TV will invite all of the candidates on the ballot to be interviewed and will host a debate between the school committee candidates in late March.
