NORTH ATTLEBORO - The number of participants during Wednesday night's school department virtual town meeting made it clear parents are interested in the education of their children.
School officials held the informational session to inform parents on plans to reopen the town’s schools next month. More than 250 families participated by logging in to gotomeeting.com.
Assistant Superintendent of Schools Michelle McKeon opened the meeting by reviewing the hybrid model approved by the school committee at their meeting earlier this month.
The plan will have half of the town's students attending school on Mondays and Tuesdays, while the other half will attending on Thursdays and Fridays. Schools will be closed for cleaning on Wednesdays. Students will take part in virtual learning on the days they are not in school.
Wednesday night’s virtual town meeting can be seen in its entirety through August 20 on North TV’s Government Channel: Comcast channel 98 and Verizon channel 23.
