PLAINVILLE - A contractor has begun rehabbing sewer mains on several Plainville roads.
Our partners at The Sun Chronicle reported on Thursday the work involves a “cure-in-place” line inside existing pipes.
After the lining, there will essentially be a new sewer pipe without any digging in the street.
Property owners will receive advanced notification of any precautions they should take to assist the crew in performing the work, such as limiting use of water going down the drain, pausing the use of washing machines and dishwashers while the work is being performed, and disconnecting sump pumps.
Stephen Peterson reported the work may cause odors to enter homes and other buildings.
To reduce them, add water to traps in showers, sinks and floor drains.
Also, check to be sure sewer cleanouts in the basement are capped.
The following streets will be impacted: Brunner Street, Grove Street, Bugbee Street, Lincoln Avenue, Pleasant Street, Potter Avenue Easement, Barna Woods Way, South Street, West Bacon Street, East Bacon Street, Sidney Street, Cooney Avenue, Hilltop Road, Everett Avenue, and the YMCA Easement.
