BOSTON - Help is on the way, in the form of $4 million in funding from the state, for motorists who have to contend with the Rt. 106 & 152 intersection in Plainville.
The meeting of the two state roads has been identified as one of the most dangerous intersections in southeastern Massachusetts according to the Southeastern Regional Planning and Economic Development District.
Even when there are no accidents, there are lengthy backups during daily morning and afternoon rush hour periods.
In addition to revising the intersection, the planned improvements will extend south on Route 152 with the installation of traffic signals at George Leven Drive in North Attleboro.
The road would be an exit for 40R housing proposed for the land where the Stix Driving Range is currently located off of Kelley Boulevard.
North Attleboro Town Manager Michael Borg spoke to North TV Monday afternoon before making an official announcement during that evening's town council meeting.
