Turkey Day fundraiser brings out Christmas spirit

NORTH ATTLEBORO - The sportsmanship student-athletes display on the fields and courts is often better than that of the adults in the stands.

In one of the best examples of sportsmanship in the 102 years of the Attleboro and North Attleboro rivalry, however, it is the adults leading the schools’ two gridiron club demonstrating what it means to be role models as part of Skyroc Brewery’s Ultimate Rival Pack competition.

The beer “Go Blue” defeated “Big Red” in an online contest leading up to this year’s Thanksgiving Day game.

As the winners in the second annual fundraiser, Attleboro's Blue Pride Varsity Booster Club was scheduled to receive a portion of the proceeds raised from this year’s sales, $1,500. The North Attleboro Monday Night Gridiron Club was scheduled to receive a $500 donation from HarborOne Bank.

Skyroc’s Nate Cinelli told North TV he was surprised when setting up a date to present the two clubs with their checks that Attleboro decided to share their prize so that both groups would receive the same amount, $1,000.
