Test 3

Walsh was the real McCoy in earning POTW honors

PLAINVILLE - The North TV staff closed out the spring sports season last week with three Hockomock League games.

We were in the King Philip gymnasium Monday, May 19, for boys’ volleyball against Attleboro. The visiting Blue Bombardiers pulled out a 3-1 win (17-25, 25-21, 25-21 and 25-20).

The two schools squared off again on Wednesday in softball action at the Plainville Athletic League complex. The Warriors blanked the Blue Bombardiers 3-0 in their last home game of the season.

We closed out the week at Bishop Feehan’s Beach Field. The game was originally scheduled for Community Field, but rain forced the schools to move to the Shamrocks’ artificial turf field. North Attleboro, as the home team, walked off with a 4-3 win in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Our Player of the Week comes from Wednesday’s softball game. King Philip’s junior pitcher McCoy Walsh, number-9, gave up only one hit and struck out 19 Attleboro batters to walk away with Player of the Week honors.

McCoy will receive a copy of the win over Attleboro on a USB drive and a Player of the Week t-shirt in King Philip gold.
