NORTH ATTLEBORO - The first week in May was a busy one for the North TV sports crew with three games in four days.
We were at Community Field on Monday, April 28, for the diamond showdown between North Attleboro and visting King Philip. The Red Rocketeers snapped the Warriors’ 10-game winning streak with a 3-2 upset victory.
King Philip was the site of girls' lacrosse action on Wednesday. The Warriors trounced the Taunton Tigers 20-0 in a lopsided game at Macktaz Field.
The softball version of the Thanksgiving Day rivalry was the game we covered on Thursday. Attleboro exploded for nine runs in the last two innings to run away with a 13-4 win at the William Kelly Field.
Our Player of the Week comes from Monday’s baseball game. North Attleboro lefthander Dillon Waterhouse went six innings, allowing only three hits and one earned run. He struck out seven Warriors and turned in two defensive gems to lead the Red Rocketeers to the upset win.
Dillon will receive a copy of the win over King Philip on a USB drive and a Player of the Week t-shirt in North Attleboro red. We’ll announce our Player of the Week for this week next week at this time.
