PLAINVILLE - Local golf history wlll be made Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. when Bill White and Shawn Seybert decide the 2021 Attleboro Area Golf Association championship days after completion of the final round.
It will also be the first playoff to be cablecast and streamed live on North TV's Community Channel and community.northtv.net.
This year's tournament had to be reduced to 36 holes after the first and fourth rounds had to be cancelled due to severe weather.
Thursday's first round at Foxborough Country Club was scrapped because of heavy rain from the remnants of Tropical Storm Fred. Today's round at Norton County Club was cancelled after a conference of AAGA committee members at 5 o'clock this morning in advance of Tropical Storm Henri making landfall.
White was tied with Peter Danko for the first round lead with a 1-under-par round of 70 Friday at Wentworth Hills Country Club. The 2007 champion followed with an even par 72 yesterday at Heather Hill Country Club.
Seybert was three shots off the pace with a 2-over-par 73 on Thursday. He shares the lead after posting a three-under par round of 69 yesterday. Defending champion Brett Chatfield was the only player to best that score with a 68.
The AAGA website (aagagolf.com) will post details on the playoff as soon as they are available.
